The Rack 'Em 6047 kit is a vinyl-coated wire grid that comes in two pieces. The upper piece easily attaches to the top of the door with two self-tapping screws. It is 24" wide and 24" tall. A lower grid hangs on this upper grid.
This brings the total grid dimensions for the Model 6047 to 24" wide by 48" tall.
The grid wire is a very substantial 1/4" diameter.
In addition to the two top-mounting screws, I recommend attaching the grid to the door surface with 1/4" tubing clips (that you might use to hold icemaker tubing to the wall) so the grid does not flop around. Once the grid is securely mounted to the door, everything is much more stable.
My safe came with a door organizer on it with a bunch of nylon pouches and zipper pockets that weren't much use and didn't hold any rifles at all. I mounted the grid right over the existing pouches and they squished down. (Not the prettiest, but I didn't have to rip the fabric off the door.)
The kit comes with 18 large pistol hooks (3-1/2" wide), 6 small hooks (2-1/2" wide), 3 steel rifle brackets that each hold up to 3 ABS plastic butt cups (total of 9 butt cups), and 9 rifle muzzle loops to hold the barrels of the rifles as they sit in the plastic cups. Bolts to attach the cups to the brackets are supplied.
The rifle butt cups I received are only about 1/2" deep -- not deep enough in my estimation. I may glue some side extensions on them to deepen them. The cups in the picture appear deeper. 1" depth or more would be better.
While accepting most rifle buts, the cups are not wide enough for all stock buttpads. My double barrel coach guns at the buttpad are wider than the cups and don't fit at all. While theoretically capable of holding nine long guns, I ended up mounting two rifles and two shotguns pointing up but sideways on the door. While reducing the number of long guns, this allows more usable space inside the safe for other stuff.
After hanging each hook on the grid the hook needs to be secured to the grid using small nylon tie-straps. If not secured the hooks can hinge up or slide left/right on the grid. I ran out of supplied tie straps, though. Get some spares.
Overall I'm very pleased with the grid and its abilities.
